A weekly roundup of the little things I’m loving this week
School’s out for summer, and the reality of it hit full force this week. Ballgames are in full swing, the snack cabinets are empty, the house is trashed more than normal, and the kids are already “bored” ha! Read on to find out what little things are helping me keep my sanity this week!
***Big thanks to Walmart for sponsoring this post! I have been monetarily compensated for my work, but all thoughts and opinions are my own. We only share what we love here, and as always, thank you for your support!***
Audiobooks
Last week I mentioned how much I loved this book, but the truth is, I don’t get much down time to actually read physical pages. Over the past year I’ve really gotten into audio books. They’re a great way to pass the time folding laundry or other mundane tasks. I use Audible from Amazon, but you might have luck enrolling with your local library as well. Summer Hair Essentials
A strategically placed top knot is a staple of my “momiform”, but my baby fine hair doesn’t stay put for just any hair tie. My bag will be packed with my favorite Invisibobble hair bands all summer long right next to my Wet Brush for post swim tangles.
Summer Kid’s Activities
I’ve been scouring all the Pinterest boards for fun summer activities to keep the littles occupied on the cheap. This week we’re planning to try out this DIY Puffy Sidwalk Paint from Midget Momma and DIY Ice Chalk by Reading Confetti.
Binge Worthy Netflix Series – Dead to Me
Normally I can’t sit down long enough to watch a movie without falling asleep, let alone an entire series. But, I crashed through the new Netflix mini-series Dead to Me in two days flat. If you like drama and suspense mixed with a little bit of weird humor this one’s for you. The lack of sleep I experienced to get through it was well worth it.
Facebook Marketplace
Not only can be it be nice way to sell your stuff, but it can be a goldmine for unwanted treasures. I scored my dining room table for $75, and with a lot of TLC transformed it into this beauty shown below. Just this week I picked up a coffee table for $25, as well as a wicker cabinet I plan to makeover for extra outdoor storage. Hop over to my Instagram Stories when you can get in on a little of the real life wins (and fails) of all my DIY projects.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! If you’ve got some hidden treasures that make your life a little easier or fun, or a favorite summer activity to keep the kiddos entertained feel free to share in the comments below!
