Six weeks to complete one room seemed like an eternity, but here we are already zooming into week 3!
Week 2 was really all about prep while I wrapped up a couple of other looming DIY projects.
If you missed the plans for this guest bedroom / home office transformation you can check those out HERE as well as the weekly plans and progress of hundreds of other talented participants HERE.
Two of the biggest tasks I plan to tackle are the vertical shiplap accent wall and covering the mom nook ceiling.
I’m using this Pre-primed nickel gap shiplap from Home Depot vertically on the wall, and it will also be used to cover the ceiling of the stairwell nook.
The great thing about this product is that the nail holes are covered up by the overlap which means WAY less nail hole filling! Yay!
Using my miter saw and a rigged up stop I was able to make my cuts in under 15 minutes! I’m all about time saving over here.
Here’s the empty wall before.
I’ve made a little progress, but week 3 will be all about finishing the nailing, patching, sanding and painting! I’m going bold with this wall, and I can’t wait to share next week’s update!
