Beddy’s Beds (bed-ease) Zipper Bedding: The messy bed solution for kids
A huge thank you to Beddy’s Beds for their collaboration and sponsorship of this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own, and you can read my full disclosure statement here.
Bedding in a kid’s shared room can be tough to coordinate if your kiddos have different opinions on their style. Throw in a significant age difference like mine, and that’s a whole other ballgame. Not to mention the struggle of trying to get them to at least attempt to making their beds. Can I get an amen mamas?
Since the moment I discovered Beddy’s Beds I longed for the simplicity of simplified bed making combined with a cohesive look for the room. If you’re thinking “What the heck is a Beddy’s Bed, and what’s so great about it?” you can check out a quick video and a more in depth description HERE.
Beddy’s Beds is essentially an all in one bedding set. The entire piece fits onto the mattress like a fitted sheet. The deep pockets will fit pillow top mattresses up to 15″ and elastic around the entire bottom keeps the bedding snug and in place. Straight out of the package they were a breeze for me to put on the beds. The materials are excellent quality and the construction is very well done.
Zippers run along the entire length of each side of the bedding, and the easy pull zipper tabs make it simple for tiny hands to grasp.
The zippers come all the way around to meet at the bottom of the bedding. This allows the blanket top to be completely zipped up for sleeping preference as well as easy washing. The sets are completely machine washable, which is a definite plus for this busy mama. Dry cleaner who?
I opted for the twin sized Beddy’s in Sketched. It’s a great neutral greige color that goes great with a variety of color schemes. When their preferences change from trucks, to dinosaurs, to LEGOS, to Star Wars, etc….. I can just accent with some bright pops of color and coordinating pieces.
The biggest benefit I’ve seen from these, however, is the quality of sleep they’re providing for my oldest. For years we have managed the challenges that come with sensory processing disorder (SPD), including his strong aversion to certain textiles that he finds “scratchy.” Our Beddy’s are fully lined with the softest minky material, which is one of his preferred fabrics. The lining also extends out as a comfort panel that overlaps the zippers and provides additional coverage.
His quality of sleep (and ours as parents) has also been negatively impacted over the years due to SPD. He has struggled with restlessness, frequent waking throughout the night, and inconsistent sleep patterns. Prior to Beddy’s we finally found some relief with a weighted blanket, but I’m happy to report that he’s been using Beddy’s exclusively for over a week now and hasn’t even asked for the weighted blanket.
When I asked him what he thought about the new sleep situation he stated,
“They’re great! I didn’t even have to try to fall asleep!”
“I feel so safe when I’m zipped up inside!”
(SPD can cause anxiety in some, and for our son specifically, anything that wraps him up snug and tight gives him a sense of security).
Bonus! The beds have been made every day since, and my clutter induced anxiety doesn’t kick in when I walk into their bedroom! ha!
Mom wins all around!
Thank you Beddy’s Beds!!
